It's quite easy to do, but initially I was a little confused.
I loosened off the bolts on the bars and top yoke, removed the bolts under the bars that go into the bottom of the yoke.
I then proceeded to try and pull the top yoke and bars off the forks.
This is wrong & impossible

.
Loosen the bars and yoke off, then pull / push the fork sliders down through the yoke and bars. Obviously the bike has to be on a main stand / paddock stand.
Once the forks sliders have been pulled / pushed down through the bars, you can remove the bars and place them above the top yoke. The top yoke does not move at all. Then pull the fork sliders back up through the yoke and bars.
Effectively you will have pulled the sliders out a further 25mm.
