Disc to wheel mount posts wear which can cause to noise your describing when braking from low speed to a stop.

a 2000 model with 7 k i bought it with 4k on it
i spoke to darren at motorworks and he said to chamfer the leading edge on the pads as new ones have this already on them. the pads are the orginal when the bike was built by the looks of it ,could the material have lost its function be not being used by previous owner???
i will try the chamfering at let you know
cheers jts
My brakes have always squealed, I've tried just about everything to stop it, but it always comes back. Pads, wave discs, worn posts shimmed, copper goo, silicon goo and i have even made up shims for the back of the pads
Apart from new calipers and a front wheel (which isn't gonna happen)there's nothing left.
I am now learning to love the squeal
I shall think of it, as character
