Just bought a belly pan and I'm thinking of turning this...

Image

into this...

Always liked the Mamola Boxercup but can't justify changing the bike so thought I might do a yellow replica.

What do you all think. Does it work? Will it add 10mph? Will everyone think I'm a plonker?

Nick

C'mon you know it's horrible so talk me out of it

I don't normally like the look of belly pans but that looks nice. Think it is the black blending into the black that does it for me.

Looks good...but then again I am biased

If you really going to go the whole nine yards, just wait till you see how much BMW charge for the decals

Look forward to seeing finished

Thanks for the positive comments.

If I do do it I'm not sure if I will go for an exact replica regarding the decals and might go for what suits me. But there are alternatives to the BMW ones anyway. I just found these guys who can either supply same or similar or they can make up custom decals.

It would definately have to have the black wheels though

Interesting. This has captured thought provoking senses. Like, this bike is worth doing a makeover on? So yellow and black look good and in the rear view mirror the bike will look like a tormented wasp but the bmw chequer fairing is old hat (K1200RS) and IMO crap (I had one  )and if you want to really provoke interest, for less money, doing away with transfers the colour scheme works well.. go for it you will be different 8) It will work!

The R1100s needs a belly pan (but it has to be the right one) - as the bike looks too bare without one :headbang:

I think you also need to go for a less "custardy" yellow than is on the bike just now :thumbleft:

More black is always good! Go for it, but indeed yellow it up at bit (look at Al's anniversary YZR-R1).

I agree black is good, my makeover is leading that way, not sure about the decals thing they tend to perish at leading edges and as its not painted on, its hardly a work of art? any clown can stick anything on. Lot to be said for the old black and cream livery with nice coach lines round fuel tank and mudguards discreet bmw logos etc but imo different coloured wheels look good. Incidently I think bmw owners can come up with better looks for the bikes than can BMW that red and yellow K1 was Fecking Heinious and my black GS with a yellow seat.. Jeezus H. Christ

Like the K1 here?

I've never been sure about it's looks either... but the red and yellow, was the best of it 's colour schemes IMO.....
