Hi,
Has anyone recently bought clocks or headlight of front plastics for a Black BMW R1200s?

I had some great news today, well as long as I can buy it back.

Tomorrow Im going to see my stolen and noow recovered BMW.

I also have the street adress it was recovered from.

Just wondering if anyone bought any 1200s stuff from Leeds area,, as it may help me find the scrote who took it

Good news indeed, mate!!!!

Can't help with the missing clocks but I've heard a rumour that a certain article of clothing may find it's way back to chez vous!!

Excellent news mate, I take it they didn't arrest the scrote then?

It is heartening to know that a stolen bike can be recovered. The only experience I have had of a bike theft was having my CZ175 lifted from outside my girlfriend's house on Christmas morning (I never got it back, but I bought a 650 AJS with the pay-out - it was a long time ago).

I hope all ends well, PB.

Thats great new PB. I've not seen any bits for sale here in Leeds - can't recall seeing any on fleabay either and I have a search on for R1200s etc.

I hope the bike is in decent order and look forward to an update. Its hard to beleive they have the cheek to keep the bike in the local area - some people are so stupid.

Heart-breakingly stupid.
I went to see the bike today and it's worse than first thought.

The evil, thicks shits didnt strip it to sell bits, they just thought it clever to smash the clocks, headlight, fairing bracket, front plastic and screen.
Bike has had a very very minor drop to teh left too, scratching the rear side plastic, left rocker cover and bar end.

I can tell by teh rear tyre they've hardly ridden it at all, but there's no key etc so I couldnt start her up.

Insurance are removing it to storage and for assessment tomorrow and then will come back to me in approx a week. We'll see.
Ive taken some pics but its a sad sight

That's really shit - what a waste.

I know the feeling as I had a really nice golf nicked and the t*ssers thrashed it around a field and then torched it.

Apparently it didn't burn too well the first time, so they did it again and the (full) tank went up.

Haveing had two nicked you've just gotta walk away, get payed out and treat it as water under the bridge.

The 1200 now is like the 1100 was in 99,there just isn't a market for the bike, there are no secondhand spares and those that have one are still under warranty so there isn't a demand ,i bought a ton of spares back then in 99 for peanuts but it's only 7 years on that their any use and now worth anything.

Paul,
Simply heartbreaking looking at the pictures, Think I would walk away and let it be history. Such a shame to see such a fine bike that you had spent many hours on ending up like that.

Really sorry state of affairs Paul - 'gutting' is too mild a word I'm sure.

As Peter rightly said - I'd walk on and try to forget about it. Although if you do find out where 'those' people live I could probably get hold of a couple of RPG's for you if I ask my Rock-ape mates nicely ;)
