Optimate query

At risk of sounding completely ignorant (& stupid) and sorry this is not about bikes

Anyone here used their bike optimate on a car? My car battery is flat and I haven't got a car charger? For some reason I seem to recollect this was not a good idea.

when you say 'bike optimate' - I thought an optimate was just a clever trickle battery charger. i use mine for the bike, the kids electric truck, golf caddy batteries, car batteries, sex aids.....
..they all work fine, ahem.

If the battery is 12 volts the optimate will never know what it is used in!

Yep, I was being a div..

actually looked at the instructions and lo, it is a battery charger..

Hooked up to the car and 'optimating' as I write..

Keeped a car on an Optimate for the best part of 3 years,worked fine,that was untill i sold it 2 months ago!!! haveing done 180 miles in it from the previous MOT !!.
