Anyone used a steam cleaner on bits of the bike?

Having just acquired a wallpaper stripper wotsit and stripped most of the flat, I'm thinking detach the plastic stripper bit and see what else I can direct steam at - dog, tropical fish, leg.... or even S oily bits...

I'll obviously wear goggles, deep sea gloves and an asbestos suit etc.

Any thoughts.

Used a powerful home steam cleaner on a different bike and did not do a lot unless you wipe as you go along (which I did not) as it was tricky on the bike I was cleaning.

Personally I wouldn't risk it anywhere near paint or electrics - unless it's really gentle... I cleaned some tarmac with an industrial unit over the winter and there's no way I'd apply something that powerful to a bike (sadly)...
