Hi all,
while waiting for Gus to finish is Euro-Asian Rat Bike, we lurkers from across the pond have been trying to keep up with the 'UK Think Tank' .
One of our Calif. group on the left coast who builds bridges and such for a living has designed an upper and lower fork set which will improve the handling of the 1100S.
I know that the top brace is available from others but its the lower brace that should be of interest to one and all. Please read this link,(and please excuse my humor on the thread, I have to maintain a certain standard ). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthre ... did=312641

I would certainly be interested. The pair of yokes; double pinch bolt upper preferred. Dont mind about the colour, annodised natural or black.
Anyone else over here want to bump up the order number?

I tested what it would be like with the 2 bolt system.
If you want to try the test yourself it will onlly cost you a half a Euro and 10 minutes,(assuming that you have the below brace bars).
Buy two 6mm x 25mm bolts and enough washers to space the two bolts 6.4mm,(1/4inch).
Loosen the pinch bolt and remove the 6mm bolt under the brace.
Drop the clamp and place the new bolt with washers under the brace and tighten.
Tighten the pinch bolt and you're off.
For my bike it would not hold a line in the corner as well as how I had my bike set up,(BCR, with the rear shock lengthened 7mm). My arm length is 34 inches.
Scotts is 36 inches and his bike is not as radical in the rear as mine.
But IMO its the lower brace thats the ticket.

You still able to use the stock front fender with the lower fork clamp??,there's a good chance you can count me in for a set,bring e'm with you when you come over,Lloyd has a custom bottom yoke already,but he's crazy enough to have a look!!!
Which is it, Le-Mans or NW 200??,either of us should be able to supply a bike.

christmas looks good as of now, we can talk then about which race but Ireland does sound very interesting. Why go to a refined french race where everyone is being french, when you can go to an Irish 'Brawl'.

I'm just testing the Ergonomics before its made, not making anything involved with $.
AND it has been said of me that I've had a sharp wit and a 'garbage' mouth but not a bad mouth.

Contary to mr C,s comments work has been continuing on the beast,at a rather slow pace at the moment i must confess.Making your own bodywork aint easy i can tell ya,lots of trial and error.Anyway,i will pull my finger out and do better.

The yokes look good,i hope you can get them at a reasonable cost.The standard mudguard still fits my bottom yoke by the four side screw fixings.I,m not using the top bolt as this would require a bracket being made.I,m also on the case of having a lighter telever arm made.This will be made out of tube and will be as strong(or stronger)than the original but without the weight.I,ll post some pictures soon.

$500, now that's about £263, plus import VAT which I can't remember what rate but lets say 17.5%, so that's £310....... oh and then there's P&P so say another £30. Is it really worth it?

I stumped nearly £500 up for my custom set. The distance between the yokes and the long forklegs combined with cheap cast yokes make the front end wander alittle when riding the bike hard.Solid billet yokes of larger proportion will help keep everything inline and stiff.For me its worth the money and effort cause i,m after the best handling bike i can build.
