Oil burner

Should the R1100S burn a bit of oil and if yes what is a normal amount ?

They do like a drop of oil, a hot running air cooled motor with....errr...relaxed tolerances most noticably in the valve guide department.
Anything up to 500 ml per thousand miles ain't uncommon and sometimes more if you give it some pasty.

Mine gets through a fair bit - don't go a long way without some spare (as I did in the middle of Portugal... Got a bit anxious scanning for a service station on the horizon..
