Michelin Pilot Powers
Really bring out the sporty nature of the 1100S. Loads of grip and confidence. Have done 1500 miles so far virtually no wear. Haven't tried them in heavy rain, good in the damp, and that was before I got my suspension dialled in.
Watching you Focker!
Also like my rear tyre, got it fitted in Italy this year and it's done about 2,000 miles now with no noticeable wear. Got caught out in a major rain storm in Lyon and the handling was fine, have had it slip once but I think it was diesel on the road.
Not sure whether to go fully pilot powers or back to BT020's....

Gulp! My Dunlop 208RR's have done just 2000 miles and are looking decidely second handminivin wrote:it's done about 2,000 miles now with no noticeable wear.

The rear M1's lasted a good deal less than 3k on the back of mine but I hear the M3's wear very well.
Will do Andrew - hopefully they'll be in stock at M'dever (they'd closed when I tried to ring them).andrew s wrote:Richard,
Keep me posted about the M3's, I still have a fresh set of M1's in the shed, but as you said the rear doesn't last much more than 2000 miles.
Andrew
I am though wondering if I'd be better off, seeing as the cooler weather's not that far away, with a pair of Pilot Roads as I've yet to hear a bad word about them. If the M3's aren't available I'll get these instead.
My Pilot Roads have now covered nearly 3k and have just started to square off, loads of life left in yet though. They're good in the wet too, apart from a few very scary slides in the Vosges last monthGromit wrote:Will do Andrew - hopefully they'll be in stock at M'dever (they'd closed when I tried to ring them).andrew s wrote:Richard,

Done 120 miles on them this afternoon - bike feels fantastic. Slightly slower steering (or perhaps that's because they're loads more stable?) than the M1's but feel really supple, almost like good sports-touring tyres but much lighter on their feet. Don't make the bike move around anywhere near as much as the M1's.
Andrew - flog your un-used M1's and buy a pair of these.
If Pilot Powers are as good as the M3's they must be pretty marvellous too.

Andrew - I got these fitted/balanced to loose wheels for 196 quid, which I thought wasn't too bad. M1's (which are still current in the Metz catalogue) are about the same price down this way - dunno how much you guys get charged north of the border.andrew s wrote:Cheers Richard, my m1's will not last too long I hope, and by that time the price of M3's will be cheaper.
