If that's the market that BMW were aiming at they are about ten years behind the times
Rivals are apparently an ancient litre Ducati V-twin and a detuned Suzuki V-twin with a soft motor out of the old TL :? If this years pick of the crop can't see those two off, the R&D department may as well clear their desks now.

Words>my mouth.

I'll bet BMW are thoroughly pissed-off that MCN have compared their new whizz-bang Boxer sportsbike against a wheezing old 2-valve Ducati and a 'budget' Sucksuki.

Try it against the base Triple-9 and RSV Aprilia.

Or maybe M*N are being more ironic than we're giving them credit for...?

...I doubt it however.. ;)

Perhaps no-one would lend them the 999 or Aprilia coz they are a bunch of knobbers who write most of their inanites down the pub if it rains

1300 mostly motorway miles, 140 miles to a tankful at legalish speeds, sore arse after 90 miles. Shaft drive is fine for lazy journo's - see below.

More interesting to me was Mr Hammonds replacement paralever bearings at 7k miles in three years on his 1150GS. BMW covered it on warranty - would you or I have got that a year out of time ????????? The bill would have been £600 + and he's not a happy bunny.
