I'm off to Rockingham!

Post by bmwonder »

I'm off to Rockingham on Tuesday. Can't wait! One day at the California Superbike School. I'm going to find out what an apex looks like. I don't think I've ever got close enough to one before to know what it looks like. I've had to sell the kids to afford it, but I'm hoping that it will be worth it. Otherwise it's a lot of money for someone to tell me how bad I really am. I will report back on how it goes.

They are doing a deal on Dunlop Qulaifiers (£165 inc fitting) which I thought was quite good? What does anyone know about these hoops - any good?

Rockingham looks a great circuit......

Cool

Have a great day - Rockingham is loads of fun, it runs the opposite way to all the other circuits in the country which makes for more left handers. Have done two days there, one on the international circuit and one on one of the smaller infield bits. Both had the hairpin and a couple of great knee down corners - lost my slider virginity on the hairpin on the S, as did brother in the same session - he was laughing so much into his helmet he forgot to slow down for the chicane afterwards and ended up parking his 748 up to the axles in the gravel trap

am looking at a last minute booking next week for whereever I can get - brands or snetterton weather permitting. R6 gets a fluid change and lube this weekend in preparation..

Don't know anything about Dunlop Qualifiers but FWR were doing a deal on Rennsports - one front and two rears for the price of a set. Cracking tyres for a trackday.

it will be an excellent day.

I did CSS year before last. It gave me the confidence to do a track day which I hadn't done before. The instruction, whilst expensive is very good indeed. Last summer at Silverstone I found myself overtaking bikes that I believed I shouldn't be able too! It was all down to CSS showing you how to take the corners properly. It completely changed my road riding too. Met a guy on a tracked up 916 who had been road racing for 12 years. He like everyone there the first time was doing level one. Was it a waste of time I asked him f*** no was the reply , he wished he had done it years ago.
Would love to do level 2 but can't seem to find the time.
