Vanishing oil
can the S be a bit suspect about how much oil it's showing in the sight glass? Yesterday I stopped after a 10 mile run, and checked oil level after bike had been sat still for about an hour, and level was only showing just at minimum mark. 'Oh dear' I thought and hurried home - left bike for 10 minutes and it was showing half full. What's that all about

Dave, oil cooler and thermostat. Well known head scratcher for new owners 
Do a search if you're really bored and you'll find chapter and verse on checking oil levels, siffice to say when you first checked it the oil cooler probably had a fair load in it.
