USA`s loss is Scotlands gain

So our 3 week CA tour has been determined by miasmic forces and international political and media frenzy. We are hoping that Scotland is open for business and we are all keepin on keepin on. I am not sorry, worried about cvd19, i was not worried or even knew anything about cvd 1 to 18 even though i possibly encountered them.

Lots of places in Scotland are gonna get our hard earned shortly. Sadly I can not find an Elvis to re- new our marriage vows

Seen a nice spot on the Ardnamurchan Estate, rang them up and asked about cancellation policy... i do not think they have heard the news. Unbelievable response. Pay 50pc now no refunds. Good business if you can get it.

Our skiing trip to France is off, although EasyJet is still determined to fly us to Geneva for a week in the airport there.

Thanks Andy, it's crazy.
Switzerland is closed yet this afternoon's easyJet flight to Geneva took off as usual. We can change the date without penalty but the schedule only goes up to October so not a lot of use to rebook skiing.
May just reschedule anyway, although its been made more complicated as 2 other couples are on the same booking. Wee got till Friday night to decide what to do.

Hope you find a good place for your trip, you never know you may even be able to get into the Applecross Inn if they get cancellations, although social distancing will be a bit of problem in their bar!

One of our neighbours is in the Highlands at the moment staying at the Applecross in last night. The Bar was only open to residents and they are closing at the end of the week until the end of April due to the current virus situation!

I am hoping our booked cabin in Locharron will still be 'open for business' in May......though with the things changing as quick as they are I suspect that there is no guarantee.

B&Bs - yes (as long as their revenue was supplementary to regular personal income, and that income is still coming in)

Camping by motorcycle will be the only option - I reckon.

I could always take my motorhome (3 double beds) and a small group of us could do Glamping in it, while the younger boxertrix members took their tents. Might need a re- mortgage to pay for the diesel to Scotland though. Social distancing would be fine (its 30ft long). Put my 11S on the rack and join in on the ride outs each day.

Now there's a plan.

It's a 7.5Litre yank V8 and 5.5tonnes weight which all trundles down the road at max 55mph and 15/16 mpg.
60 mph is 12/13mpg
70mph is 8/10mpg
80mph is 5mpg
All figures tried and tested, which is why I stick to 55mph - more relaxing too, as it steers like an oil tanker with jelly for a steering column.
Used to take my 11s on the rack out to the 'Ring numerous times a year.
Much more comfortable than riding and it saved wearing out the track day tyres too.

How far technology has come!! Last night my artic, admittedly with not a lot of weight, about 22 tonnes with bog roll/kitchen towel in the trailer, returned 10.3 mpg on a 370 mile round trip

How old's your truck Dave - my Gulfstream Ultra is 28 years old and an old tech, normally aspirated diesel non turbocharged.
