Over to Paul
Evening all,
As from late last night, ownership of the forum - and of boxertrix.com - is now in the very capable hands of Paul. Whilst I've previously been the site's owner, it's Paul who's been the brains behind getting this forum to work - and it'll be wonderful to have the forum in the hands of someone with such a huge amount of professional IT experience and knowledge.
On top of that (without wishing to embarrass him) we really couldn't have someone better to take the helm. Paul's always been 100% supportive, endlessly patient with the IT-clueless person that is me, a great friend, and just an all-round top bloke.
Thanks all - time for me to sit further back in the auditorium/mad-house/funny farm that is Boxertrix.

Thanks for setting up, and perpetuating the forum, Richard.
At least you will have more time to improve your camera-skills - I couldn't help but notice that the background is out of focus on a lot of your snaps.....

Irony I feel Mitch. Perhaps yours was too. So difficult to tell with the written word.Mitch1100 wrote:Good luck and thank you Richard!

Richard, this forum is only as good as it is because of your stewardship, for any forum to live as long with only a light touch from moderators is so very rare, thank you
I hope you get your biking mojo back some day and I hope to meet up again some time.
I know that we are in good hands with Paul at the helm, he's not a bad lad for a Geordie
So here's to the next decade of tomfoolery.
Oh and Paul, I think I'm overdue with my subs, where do I send them now?
Steve

Richard,
Thanks for the kind words and for trusting me with the future of your amazing creation. I may have provided the technology, but the sense of community and friendly tone of this place is very definitely a great reflection of your character and stewardship of the site.
I have met a load of great people through this site and long may it continue to be a friendly place we all enjoy visiting and planning our adventures together. I may be the name on the Boxertrix.com domain registration and hosting papers, but Boxertrix is more about the conversations of the great bunch of people who populate the site with their wit and wisdom.
I have no wish to make any changes to the way the site operates, beyond a long overdue technology refresh of the board software. This software went live in the days before the iPhone and it's age is showing. It will receive a makeover shortly, but beyond a slight change in the look and feel and a few more features for us to play with, it should remain essentially as you know and hopefully enjoy it today.
Can I also thank Steve Parry for his continued help and support in keeping the site running smoothly, helping out with moderation. That's a huge help which is greatly appreciated so thanks Steve. All that and he sorts out our Welsh weekends too!
People of Boxertrix: Please join me in thanking our founder Richard for giving us this great place to meet, and hopefully we'll all want to continue to use this site for that purpose for many years to come.
Cheers,
Paul

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
I echo Paul's thoughts above and wish Richard a long and healthy retirement
I may only be a late entry to the "party" but having had our Boxertrix Xmas dinner last night in the company of Mr Parry's "Scottish tour contingent" I can honestly say I have met a good number of really decent people though this forum.
