Wilbers - BCR

One of you clever lot will probably know the answer to this, without me trawling the previous threads..

Has anyone fitted a set of Wilbers to a 2004 BCR ? If so, would you know what part numbers were used ? Need to change the standard shocks as they are passed their best, so interested to know your thoughts.

Right then, still waiting...

Think i posted this a couple of years ago, but didn't get around to organising until now

However, nice little winter project beckons, so need to get this out of the way. Wilbers seems to be the way to go, so before i contact the folks directly, could anyone here offer any advice regarding the best products to use ? Wilbers model or part numbers would be great. Also interested to hear if anyone has an '04 BCR with this setup.

[EDIT] I wouldn't like to state categorically what the numbers are - so would suggest you call Revs Racing and ask them.

Make sure they understand that the shocks are for the Mk 2 BCR with the high suspension.

There is a sticky at the top of the tech section which I am sure has the shock lengths if you require that.

Will have a trawl through, but wanted to make sure i get the correct product for the reason you mention.

Suspect they could be rebuilt, but the quality of the Wilbers is more superior to the stock OEM items.

The OEMs have been on the bike since I bought it new in 2004, so past there best.

Best money you will spend..cant remember numbers but Wilbers ask for bike model, your weight, riding style etc to set up for you. I went top end with adjustments to
Spring Preload
Compression Hi/Low
Rebound Damping
Raising ride height
Hydraulic Preload Adjuster

Had a chat Jon at Revs in UK earlier. The Wilbers 630 model is standard for the front (no variants), but there are 3 options for the rear, depending on adjustability, these are the 640, 641 & 643. Think Mitch has posted up the range topper 643.

Need to get rider weights to Revs, so will advise which rear shock i end up with. These are made to order, so delivery around 3/4 weeks.

I put Ohlins on my Mamola Rep and it truly transformed the bike. I appreciate that the stock Showas that came with the bike are far from perfect but the handling with the Ohlins on is greatly improved.

I understand that the Ohlins are a bit more pricey then the Wilbers and I am sure that the Wilbers would prove to be an excellent upgrade and a substantial saving on the Ohlins.

In fact, I will sell my set of Ohlins for circa £6500 and throw in a very highly kitted out Mamola Rep and a bunch of other extras for free
