Mystery connector 07 R1200S

Post by saabowl »

While cleaning the bike yesterday I noticed a small connector that is in the engine case just above and to the right of the oil level inspection window.
It has space for two wires but there is only one running into it.
Does anyone know what the connector is for and should it have two wires?
Bike seems fine, but it's just bugging me now I've seen it.

Thanks

Possibly two things, both should be two wires, and depends exactly where you are looking.

Oil pressure sender unit wire or plug for O2 sensor.

OP sender should be in the block. O2 sensor used on US/Canadian bikes/ not sure about Euro bikes, so you might have an unused wire??? O2 wire is usually attached on cylinder head, but still in the same area you are looking.

Hope that helps.
