A wezcountry jaunt

Post by Boxermed69 »

Last week had a bimble through Dorset, Somerset and Devon. A mate from work wanted to get some more miles under his SV650 wheels - newly qualified and lacking a little confidence. So, said I, Dunster for a cream tea then...

Got pissed on between Crewkerne and Taunton but then it dried up nicely. Twixt Taunton and Dunster was largely frustrating - too much traffic. The romp from Dunster down to Tivvy along the Exe Valley made up for it. Brill.

Hit fog between Honiton and Sidmouth (WTF? It's the end of June!). After a stop to refuel and empty the leg bag headed back along the coast road to Weymouth. The A3052 twixt Sidmouth and Lyme Regis is also a goody - better than the B3157 from Bridders to Weymouth, which used to be a cracker until some bright spark made it nearly all restricted to 50mph.

180 miles covered, bikes minging, buttocks stinging (must get out more - getting soft). Al enjoyed it but was left wondering why Suzuki saw fit to stuff his seat with Portland stone...

Al giving it 'John Wayne' in Sidmouth ("You're walking funny mate - yer bum ok?" "The hell it is.")

Funnily enough a friend comments the same about the seat on her 1250 bandit. I "almost" considered one when I bought my K12GT, for the seat alone I'm so glad I didn't. She reckons 100 miles and it's a device of torture!

PS why is your camera taking odd coloured pics :)

Just realised I've posted this in the wrong section. Sorry Richard/Paul.

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

Hello Nigel. Turns out Hayden was spot on - box brownie set for 'incandescent'; switched back to 'auto' - jobs a good'un. Cheers! :)

Al reckons the B & W option highlights his slaphead hairline too well - receding faster than a spring tide at Weston... :D
