The old stand came off easy as per Paul's description and I didn't even have remove the springs or engine cut out from the base assembly.
The only tricky bit (for anyone reading this in the future) was getting the bolt out of the new stand as it was a 50mm torx bolt and my set only went up to 40mm. (problem was solved by taking the offending part up to the paddock at Brands on sat and getting a serious bit of kit involved

As stated, the bolt threads are different (and the old bolt needs a 6mm allen key) but the new bolt went into the old housing with no probs.
