I think whats happen'd with Michelin they've pulled a rabbit out of their collective backside on the wear front, i have to say that i have an agenda!!! as i'm have a nice year rideing around on free tyres, the problem being i don't get to choose, but some how they've managed to get the Pilot Race stuff, not only to grip but wear as well, haveing seen a Ducati 999 turn up at the hotel in Brno with a 1000 miles of motorway and not a mark on e'm,spoke to the Michelin rep and the guys at the shop that i use and they were saying the P/Powers and the 2CT's have murdered Bridgestone.

Chris - the reason the Duke hadn't got any tyre wear was because it was sat in the back of a recovery truck ;)

(ho ho that old chestnut - yes I'd like a triple9!)

Seriously...

I've heard similar stories about the new M3 Metzes ie they offer superior grip but folk have been getting well over 2k more from a rear hoop than the old M1.

I see Michelin now do an 'S' ie performance version of the Pilot Road. Saw this whilst browsing the catalogue at M/dever this morning.

I had BT014's on my previous S - bloody hated the things. The only tyre I've had in years which has slid on me in the dry.

What the punters are moaning about ain't the grip, but how quickly they square off.

Richard,

Like Paul, I always buy my tyres from BFM and remove the wheels and get them fitted at the local bike shop.

I now have a contact who is the manager at the local National Tyre Centre, so will find out what he will charge for M3's.

Got caught out in the torrential downpoor near Amesbury that was reported on the radio yesterday, flood across the roads and mud and grit everywhere. From Warminster, Chitterne, Shrewton to Amesbury I tended to sit at 60-80 as you get some of the rain then go around you due to the aerodynamics. Can report not a single slide from the rear tyre even in these conditions, think I may replace my BT020 on the front for a Pilot Power :D
