Hi, I'm Dave. No Beemer yet, currently have TRX 850 which i have had for around 3 years. Looking for something a bit more comfortable for longer trips. Attracted to the R1100S, i still want to do some track days and like to get to most BSB rounds and keep up with my riding group.
Need to keep the costs down so MPG and insurance is an issue.
Any advice considered.
Thanks,
Dave

Have you seen this one on Ebay £1800 buy it now, looks a bit rough in places, but cant be bad for that money, ohh and its the sport with the wide rear wheel and taller suspension.

I have a 2000 R1100S with panniers (both touring and city lids) available if you are interested. It has 22140 miles on it, is completely standard and is in pretty good nick.
A few of the others on here have seen it as AndrewS took it down to the Hawes meet a couple of months back. I'm looking for about £2250 for it, so if your interested, please PM me.

In hiatus from motorcycles.
I'm not so sure now, rode the TRX down to BMW dealer in northampton last week and really enjoyed the ride. Also been reading a bit more in depth on here ans it sounds like if i ride an S the same as i ride the TRX i will be down to about 35MPG from 50MPG . Could be in trouble with the misses on this because have already been rowed for spending more on bike fuel than in her car one month last year.

Silver,
I can vouch for Stevie's 'S', it runs very well and was a pleasure to use for just over a 1000 miles. The engine runs very sweetly and the gearbox is soooo smooth.
To be honest and no disrespect to Stevie the bike looks beeter now than in the photo's after I gave it a good polish, bodywork is in very good nick.
If fuel is a concern then it does have very good miles to the gallon, but you should also think of the excellent riding experience the 1100S will give you.

Hi Stevie,
Would not hesitate to borrow your bike again if it were offered.
Elbow is getting better, seeing the consultant on the 22nd so hope for good news although the movement is a lot better and it only gets sore after use (no s*x jokes please). Thanks for asking.
Go on Silver buy the bike before I do.
