"3 days after buying mine in 2000 it was spread all over the garage floor!!!,"
lmao!!!
I can see the advantage of being like that, but i would worry its not put back the same as the factory!
well... the bits are in tomorrow i go to collect, same afternoon i soak it all in WD40. sat or sunday is the day! :wav:
cheers Winger!!!

Because of the number of times i've had mine apart, the wire to the rear number plate is folded away and the light was binned, all i have now is an C/F Ilmberger jobie but there are alsorts of tail tidys, just makes for one less complication when i'm takeing the bike to bits,i can strip the complete pipe off in what?? 5 minutes.

That's to reset the throttle position sensor. I think that's only if you disconnect the battery, but I could be wrong. It only takes a second, so no harm in doing it "just in case".

Paul.
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

a big thankyou!

Post by budman200210 »

I would like to say a big thankyou to all of you that gave me good advice on the removal of the cat!
Ok this is how it went!
The removal of the actual cat was very easy, all the bolts come out unbelievably easy! As the bike has done no wet weather at all, no rust anywhere!
i tried to remove it the proper way, which involves the removal of the tank to unplug the sensor, but this become a bigger job of all by a long way! Then I couldnt get the rubber seal to stay in the rim when putting the filler cap back on. in the end i had to tape it down cos u cant hold it when putting the cap on for the bolts to go through! And all this was a waste of time because i later found that the cat droped to to floor with enough wire still loose. So i took the advice to just wind the wire 13 times before doing it up again! And ive got to say... What a bloody nice noise it makes now!!! Well happy with it, a lot louder!
As i was in a rush to put it all back together just to hear it, i didnt put this triangular bracket back on under where the cat sat, under the frame of the bike! So was it just there just for the cat or does it serve any other perpose?
Once again, thankyou all very much for your help!!!
Aaron (very happy cos my bcr sounds the nuts!!!) lol
HAPPY XMAS!
