r1100s emblem question
hey guys,
I am going to repaint the s this winter and was wondering the best method for removing the emblems for prep.
They appear to be glued on and I don't want to break anything. Or would it just be better to tape em up and work around them?

I think they are the same as most cars these days. Park it in the sun to let the emblem warm up and cut through the glue with some thin fishing line. The old glue can be removed with a little acetone.

It is not sunny here every day, you know, it was overcast two weeks ago, I think that it was a Tuesday. Bummer, no flying that day.

Hi Stevie. No, I am an Applications Engineer for Smith International on a 28/28 rotation out of a place called Hassi Messaoud, Algeria.
Its not a bad place to be really; plenty of sun, no hassle from the locals and we have the only free bar in town.
We are about 1000 clicks south of Algiers, so its pretty bleak; plenty of sand and a few camels.
Hassi is basically an Oasis which the French used historically as a staging post for raids down into Mali, Niger and Chad. The Russians found oil and gas here in 1952 and it grew into an Oil Camp. Then the Yanks got involved in about 1980 when the Russians went home and the place now caters for about 20,000 people. It is the focal point for all Development in Central and Southern Algeria.
There is plenty of Seismic work here though and it is something which I get heavily involved in as we have to interpret the Lithology Columns so as to best advise on how to drill and develop the wells.
Are you involved in the same field Stevie? I have noticed a couple of your posts and you always seem to be in far better places then the Sahara.
