What stand??

Post by timbox2 »

Whats the opinion then, centre stand, Abba, NWS, the gen BMW one, dont fancy doing the balancing act I had set up last weekend again.

Abbas the easiest for me, M and P have one instock £100 all in, but does it have any disadvantages??

Cheers in advance.

PS: dont have my own garage at present, otherwise I might consider one of the bike lifts.

Tim - I (along with a few others I'm sure) can heartily recommend the Abba; it's a PofP to use and extremely sturdy.

Downsides? The r/h mounting lug (the one which stays on the bike) isn't overly pretty....but to be honest that's about it.

Of course the Abba only lifts the rear wheel, but if you have access to a car jack you'll get the front off the ground no probs. Nice thing aswell is that you can use the stand on a huge range of bikes, just by getting the appropriate adapter kits - they're about 15-20 quid I think.

Thread hijack..............

I have an Abba Superbike stand and lift table under my work bench that I used for my old Viffer - has anyone tried their 11s on this?

Wondering if it's worth the £20 on the bits to convert it over to the Beemer - it's gotta be safer than just using the table to lift hasn't it?

And..........if my feeble memory serves - the lugs don't stay on the bike?

Ok bought the Abba today, yep awesome, but I have a question. When I attach the stand it lies on the side stand making it a little tricky, do you think I may have a non standard side stand??

I had to tweak the side stand on my bike as the Abba used to catch it on the lift/pullback of the stand, easily done with a vice and a bit of tube.
