Well this is an R1100S one, and possibly covers all the over R1100x series

Turns out mine at 52k miles had eaten it's brushes:

So, does that mean they are designed to wear out within 50k miles, or was mine shite :? not impressed with BMW quality, it's a myth!

I thought that it would have been an induction motor.

50K thats crap I think that I would post it to Bracknell as a present and ask for comments.

You're lucky it ain't a Honda one from a carb bike. Most go at 25K miles!
Honda VFR750 FV 1997 Red and dirty, 130K miles.

Honda VFR800 Xf Crossrunner 2016 White and dirty, 120K miles.

No matter how many times I see electric pumps / and rheostat thingys in petrol tanks it always scares the s*it out of me :shock:

well, I am presently chomping at the bit as being an Avionic Design Engineer in the Military and Civilian aviatian industry, well, this is shite! I am presently trying to gather my words before I send something off to BMW UK :twisted:
