Riding to work this morning on my 1150GS I noticed the speedo wasn't working. I disconnected the cable at the wheel end, spun the front wheel and the peg that drives the cable wasn't turning. I wiggled it with some pliers and it started turning but as soon as some pressure is applied, eg pushing the cable back on, it stops. Is the drive in the front wheel serviceable or will I need to replace it? I replaced the front tyre about 1000 miles ago so it's possible I disrupted something then.
Thanks,
Paul

And I thought that the speedo was electronic without a cable.

The electronic system isn't bulletproof either...
My K100 (now known as 'The Antiques Roadshow') has suffered from an intermittent speedo for some time.
It's good for keeping the mileage down (!) but a bit of a pain.
Pulling the connector plug apart, spraying with WD40 and re-assembling several times seems to do the trick.
Must admit I didn't realise the GS had a cable drive speedo...

2011 Harley-Davidson FLD Switchback - yeah, I know. I've always wanted one though...
