Why did I agree? Bl**dy Alan, Bl**dy Jefferies, Bl**dy Salesman Richard!!! (Actually he is a very nice bloke).

10.00am Saturday....me and the K1200S demo bike will be going for a bit of fun around God's own county! Will I like it? I know I will. Will I want one? What do you think?????

Having said that, I really wanted to like the R12S which I played on but that is one BMW that is not for me, wrong body shape maybe - can't be the bike 'cos most of my good riding chums seem to be buying them!

Anyway....best take Box on't Back for her views!

Personal choice Huw, The K1200S just didn't do it for me, More than fast enough and handles but not for me. R1200S now that its hit 12000 miles and is kitted out for my needs suits just fine, Hope I still feel the same in a months time after I've been down to Italy and back. Looking forward to seeing you both (and the K1200S) in Hawes----You are coming I hope!!!

Regards Peter.

Had a Blackbird before the R1100S. The only smile that the 'bird generated was the one on the copper's face when he booked me for speeding. Too easy to loose your licence with that thing and having had many Hxxdas in the past I was very disappointed with the quality.[/quote]

Peter,
I did 2400 miles going down to Garmisch on my R1200S the other week and it was brilliant. With your luggage fitted it will be even better. I take it you're going solo though?

I rode my first R1200s a couple of weeks ago,to say i was in a state of shock would be putting it mildly, what the hell the throttle is connected to i've no idea but it sure as hell ain't the motor, the response would be faster if you sent a letter!!!,the Megamoto was similar,i guess you can get used to it,when i got home,my S seemed like a two stroke, response wise by comparison.

Paul,
All my riding is solo, If I did ever carry a pillion the R1200s would still be in the showroom!!!

That's probably the effect of the non-linear throttle. It's a crap idea, but you end up adapting to it and unconsciously compensating.

Don't know what (or where) you were riding, but that does not sound anything like my R1200S. Maybe you just rode a cr*p one.

But then what do I know? - I am not an expert!
