You are thinking of the other Roger Slater, who with his brother Richard, ran Slater Laverda and developed the Jota. Roger moved to Seattle some years ago and was, or maybe still is, the US importer for Brembo.

Richard still runs Slater Laverda, just outside Bromyard.

No i haven't got a Guzzi but i know a man that has,and the two above gents still do what you said,in fact a trip to the Laverda at Collington near Bromyard shop every couple years is a must,a proper old fashioned spit and sawdust jobbie.

I remember the Laverda Jota racing in the old production class.A good friend of mine was Richard Gamble who raced a Moto Guzzi at the same time.Later had a bad accident at Kirkcaldy racing in the Battle of the Twins series ,still on the Guzzi. That bike is in a mates garage, next to my Royal Enfield Crusader.
