Stickie Transfers on the Fairing

Post by snavetrauts »

I overfilled the B/master cyclinder the other day and had'nt noticed the overspill. Went out for a test ride brakes were good then noticed cylinder dripping onto paintwork. Wiped it as best I could on the move, biut got back quick.

I cleaned it all up only to notice the paintwork was fine (well waxed) but the yellow square...stickie transfer.... now has a white not yellow trickle mark all the way down it. That weas waxed too..... so why did it "melt".

There is an identicle transfer to mine on ebay at the moment so I thought I would buy it...BUT... I thought the whole lot was stuck on and then clear laquered over.... if that is the case, why did the paint not bleed as well as the transfer...CONFUSED

If its laquered is it worth buying the transfer??  :?: :?:

…I’m 99% sure that you haven’t got a layer of clear coat ; but you can easily see it, and feel it…
...and I'm 100% sure the S left the factory without clear coat over the transfers...
Have a nice day !

…if you use a hairdryer, you can heat up the transfer a bit ; the glue gets warm, and you can peel off the transfer very easily, without damaging the bodyworks paintwork…

…and about Aachen ; I truly don’t know…
Have a nice day !
