Any idea what that strange red bracket at the back is?
It's part of the pannier mounting system

It's the bracket to which the brake/tail light is attached.

steady
test rode ktm super duke today. Bloody wocked thing but wouldnt want to do a full day on it. K1200r was ok ish, ktm adv 990 wasnt impressed.
Tomorro testing new tiger and sprint st. Also looking at v rare tuono racing (one of 300 worldwide, in kevlar etc), with serious view to buy. If I get the tuono then its likely I'll get a 1200gs. Tdm will be for sale then!
If nothing works out tomorrow, then its the 1200s in scotland and loads of work.

Does anyone know what width rear rim they're using? 5.5 or 6 inch or ???
If enough is enough and more is better than too much should be just about right.

Even if you like the looks, it's likely to be as reliable as a Ducati due to its high state of tune (not to mention BMW's current attitude towards component / build quality) and it's still 50bhp down on the competition.
What 190bhp 180kg out-of the crate bike do you know of?
[/quote]
Humblest apologies. I'm clearly out of touch. Yamaha R1 - 180bhp 177kg dry - WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for some daft reason I thought they were all around 160bhp.
Just a shame half the guys out there on them haven't got a clue how to rider them.
