Versys 650?
Anyone here got an opinion on the kawasaki 650 Versys?
I had a good look at one today and was very impressed, seems well put together, quite tall in the saddle, high riding position, 65bhp. and at £4495 otr I was seriously tempted, only the lack of a demo ride made me walk away. looks like it would make a great 2nd bike for winter hooning.
any thoughts, anyone ridden one?
Steve

The Versys or the ER6 appeal to me but there would appear to be build quality issues (bit like the s thenBoxered wrote:Anyone here got an opinion on the kawasaki 650 Versys?

Overall I couldn't see one surviving a bad winter cosmetically intact.

I don't want to say nothing about the looks...
but for winter riding the Kawak is junk o better will look like junk.I read a test in a mag riding it for 25K ilometres (actually it was its street only cousin) and they had a lot of electrical gremlins and the frame was rust-brown...
Cheap maybe, but I guess you get what you pay for.It is probably a good second bike for the summer, though, and so pretty...
As a second bike for winter I probably would go for a even cheaper used 1100GS...

Boxered,.. personally,.. I like the look of the bike. Light, versatile, nippy. Build quality seems to be an issue with all bikes exposed to the UK climate. £4K is good value. Compares price wise to SV650 and GSF650,.. a great 2nd bike,.. or in my case,.. its on my list of RTW dream machines (oh how he dreamed lol)
