This afternoon I secured a 5 litre drum of olive oil onto the back of the bike, only to have it split and dump its entire contents over the back of the bike, exhaust, pegs, wheel etc.
Pretty clever
Anyway, with a bit of cleaning gel got it all off and the tyre is fine only the rear brake disk and calipers aren't gripping as they should;
What is the best way to clean it without buggering it all up?

Exactly!
And lots of warm soapy water and Fairy liquid for the rest of it!

Thank you for the advice.
Its the first time that I have "lubricated" a brake disk and it is remarkable quite how much they lose their bite.
Shame it happened it was a particularly fine Spanish Extra Virgin olive oil too
