Rang Bennetts today to sort out the insurance on the 'Bird - I wanted to change my MZ's policy to the Honda (coz it's got loads of NCB), then take out a new policy for the MZ with no no claims. Either that or start a new multibike policy.
Their suggestion...
Reduce the MZ's NCB to zero - this would be an additional charge of £147.00 for the remainder of the year's policy (up to 9/07). The NCB could then be applied to a new policy for the 'Bird for 12 months starting now. They couldn't apparently uprate the MZ's policy to the Honda.
Instead, I cancelled my MZ's insurance (this gives me a £96 refund) and took out a brand new policy, with zero NCB, for £71.
Insurance for the 'Bird is £157. A 2-bike policy for the MZ & 'Bird was going to be £385.
And folk wonder why insurance quotes are baffling.

This has been public service announcement due to a bout of boredom.
