Just been out for a wizz on the 12s. What a gorgeous afternoon. The roads wehere really clean and clear of salt due to the recent wind and rain. Everyone was in their offices working so no traffic and to top it all off the roads were dry, the wind was minimal and it was fairly mild...all this in Yorkshire on the 2nd of January.
I just did the Otley TT, from Leeds down to Poole, then up to Menwith Hill, over to Blubberhouses, back to Otley and then home to Leeds. All in that golden hour of 2.30pm to 3.30pm when the roads are dry and its still light.
It was very nice here in Kinross-shire too, but instead of taking either bike out I went for a 2-hour knock-yer-pan-in cycle ride.
Just as well, really, as the roads here were NOT clean. Most roads were covered in salt, and the minor roads had ice patches in the shadows. On one stretch me and my mate were skating around like mechanised bambi's.
Still, it was good to get some cobwebs out of the lungs.

I had an hour out too around 2 'til 3 - I'm not back to work until tomorrow.
Down to Northallerton and up to Darlington for me. Reasonably dry, sun too much 'in your face' though without shades. Just an easy wipe off of the bike when I got back, not a full-blown wash.
had a nice run on New Years Eve, approx 200 miles, to Ripon, Thirk, Helsmley, Pickering then north towardsWhitby and back via the scenic forrest route and Hutton le hole.
By crikey the wind got up tho
