Potterton Profile boiler failure HELP!

Lucky me! Bet you can all hear the cheers in our house, the boiler has failed. Is there an engineer among this group?
The problem is there is no air pressure to trip the pressure switch which is part of the start up proceedure. I checked it by hooking up the Twinmax! Certainly justified to her that little gadgets' purchase cost.
PCB is fine. The fan is turning, but without much effort, it is easily stopped with the lightest touch. Could it be that a winding has gone down, so the fan is not running fast enough to pressurise the flue?
And here's a bitch, non-Corgi purchasers of boiler parts get charged 25% extra and then vat; if given the custom in the first place! Bloody 'elf 'n safety.

probably way off here but may have a similar problem with loss of pressure that until engineer comes requires a reset at least once a day. Little button on the underside of boiler. There should be a hole on the outer lower casing, stick your finger in and see if it clicks to reset

It was the fan! Despite the old one still 'working', a replacement showed the old to be defective. Bath's are wonderful after a week of abstinance!

Sorry to hear about your boiler oyster,wev'e had our potterton linx electronic for nearly twenty years and when it finally packs up we'll put the flags out coz wev'e had countless greif with it,mainly circuit board probs and it always happens in the winter so i can sympathise with you,but now ive got an expert in combis which aren't easy to come by as most plumbers hate em,Anyway it seems that your all sorted know,but just to say your not alone!
