Well Sunday dawned dry and bright with no wind and not too cold either, which given the weather of the last couple of weeks was a rather pleasent surprise.
So the grabbed the Pan13 out the garage and went for a run down to the coast over the back roads. Cracking day and quite roads so headed down passed Culzean Castle & Turnberry and on down to Girvan where there's a good snack shop at the south end car park. Had to get back to do the kid thing so quick cuppa, chat and off again. All in all an excellent couple of hours, made better by the fact the howling gale and piddling rain started again late afternoon and has not stopped since !
I've found that the only time it's been badly effected by the wind has been when I've had the screen up full and been, ahem, pushing on a bit whilst it's been gusty. Not surprising really given it's similarity to a barn door, still an awesome bike though

Chris,, nah it's alright I've had it dragging from side to side and not had any probs. It was so confidence inspiring I only found out how ahrd I been riding when I got off and found scrapes and the tyre scrubbed from edge to edge. I thought I'd been swift, but not that enthusiastic as I had wifey on back !!
I used to work in Livingston a few years back, and on many occasions I have driven through the magic kingdom in blazing sunshine to be faced with snow and ice in Livi, but I put that down to Livi being on a plateaux, and not really in Harthill's rain shadow.
From Friday I can lend you my bog-stock 1100S in classic DDP, as I pick up my 1200S then.
Last winter came back into the station at 6:00am no snow at all on the roads, only to be called out 1/2 hour later to the M8 for a 20 car pile up in 2ft of snow.
You not sold the 1100S, or are you keeping it. Thanks very much for the offer. If the weather stays the same I might take you up on it.

JC's didn't want it on a trade-in, Alan reckons he's got a shed full of 1100s', so I decided just to hang on to it until spring and flog it then. Well, that's what I'm telling the wife. I use it for commuting, so I will probably use it through the winter and spare the 1200S the ravages of Clackamannanshire in winter.
