Boxer cup lowered seat height

Post by geoffo »

Hi,
I am planning on buying a 2004 R1100S Boxer Cup, however the seat height is 860mm and being 5'7" (29" leg) it's too high to be comfortable
(800mm is about right for me)
What is the best and cheapest way to lower the bike?
And will it have any detrimental effect on handling and looks?
Hope someone can give me some advice.

Many thanks,
Geoffo.

Geoffo,
2004 BCRs have a thicker seat than other models (I think) so a seat from a std S should go some way to lower the bike, Also fitting the paralever torque arm from a std S (30mm Longer) will lower it a bit more. HTH.

Should you go down that route I will be happy to take both the thicker seat and the shorter torque arm off your hands. I'll even do the swap for free. :P

Try that thread - it's got a keen recommendation for a seat lowering service.
