Cylinder Protectors for 12s

Post by stoney »

Has anyone fittted any kind of cylinder protection to their 12S? I was contemlating fitting the standard plastic ones seen on the GS and RT.

Any pics would be useful.

I have fitted the Touratech alloy cylinder head protectors more commonly used on the GS to my 1200ST. They should probably fit the S as well as the engine block is common to all three types of bike. I think Touratech do both plain alloy & black versions of the guards.

I have used the plastic BMW guards on my 1100S but they did not stand up to much punishment. A slow speed spill (<10mph) consigned one of the plastic guards to the bin.

Stoney,
I have the std BMW ones (as fitted to GS's) on mine, No pic's I'm afraid but they are pretty inconspicuous . Not going to save the Rocker covers in any real spill but might just help if I do drop it.

My thoughts exactly. If I don't like 'em I can whack on the GS instead!
