bought a 98 r1100s with the cat removed and a pair of art carbon cans.
question is, the fuel injection ain't gonna automatically take into consideration the freer-flowing cans when it calculates the air-fuel mixture, and i'm fairly sure no mods have been done to the management, so just what potential damage am i doing to my 'bulletproof' engine?
must say i'm none too bothered about exhaust volume either way, and if i can land on an oe exhaust then i'll probably get it. the only thing is how soon? do i need to start worrying? there's a bit of soot in the pipes, but nothing that concerns me overly; hey, it's a big twin.

you have to be hardy to rest on your laurels
Hi
First off get rid of those turds you have immatating decent cans. They are shite and will fall apart.
Laser end cans are the favourite choice along with y piece.Though stainetunes are a close second.Standard cans with a y piece works well.
I ran y piece laser cans without a chip for a long time with no ill effects concerning engine damage.Though a chip or pc3 will make the bike fuel loads better.

The only set I've known self destructed after 14 months with the rivets pulling thru the carbon sheet, the supplier wouldn't entertain any sort of recompense. Not sure carbon is a good idea in general for exhausts in the long term
