Foggy Patronas Racing
In the course of my job today I had quite a chat with Jack Valentine and most of the management of FPR. I asked Jack about the future of the team and whether they would remain in WSB or go to MotoGP or even if there was a sponsor in the wings that had yet to be announced. I felt that these questions needed asking on behalf of all. Jack went onto say that there were plenty of meetings going on at present both in regard of getting a major sponsor for the future and also to decide which series the team would be competing in. Unfortunately as yet no decisions have been made and so no announcement can yet be made. He personally hopes that the team survives and carries on racing. I got the impression that he relishes the challenge whichever series the team ends up in.
Based on their past performance in WSB it's hard to see that they'd have a hope in hell of being competitive in MotoGP unless they just went out and leased an RCV or two from Honda. And I'd imagine there won't be too many of those going spare next year - none of the manufacturers have the option of offering 'previous season' bikes to independent teams because of the switch to 800's.
So develop an even vaguely competitive bike of their own from scratch?
