Received a cheque for £3.3k for my written off 'S this morning. Had a quick wander around Vines and SPC this afternoon to see what they had in stock. Nobody seems to have any red white & blue BCRs at the mo' which is a bit of a shame.
Saw some second hand 1200GS's at about £8k which looked quite tidy but again I'm being drawn towards the F800S. SPC are selling off their demo bikes with around 4k on the clocks for £4,999 which represents a saving of about £1,800 on a new one... At that sort of price, I could sell it in the spring if for any reason I wasn't keen on living with it and hopefully not take too much of a financial pasteing.
What are the thoughts of the board? should I hang on a little longer for the end of season price crash and wait for a pretty BCR, or satisfy my craving for instant gratification and go with the F800S?
Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

I did wonder that myself...
But the bike's in York
Paul - I'd go for the 800S if I were you; change is as good as a rest etc.
I think the F800s ticks all the right boxes. I really think they look and sound great....if I had the money I'd have one today.
Just think ......no drive shaft probs!

What he said - if I was 4" shorter I'd have had one. How tall are you Paul? 5'11"? There's your answer
Belt drive is bloody great too - take my word for it (fwiw)

The ex demo at SPC is in red. Wonder how much a Christian Pfeiffer-esque paint job would cost? Stick on an Akrapovic and I'd be good to go.
800S Paul - you were made for each other Bloke at the office over the road has a yellow one and it looks delish. I'd consider one too if I were a little shorter. Under 5000 earth pounds sounds good too. Looks good, sounds good, handles good, what else matters?
