Scottish weekend
The Honda lot that I'm sometimes associated with will be up to Bonnie Scotland this (9th/10th) weekend based in Boat of Garten near Aviemore. Any suggestions for unmissable roads around the area would be most welcome. Ten wailing V4's should annoy most of the walkers in the North of Scotland
Apologies before the event.

It's not how fast you ride, it's how you ride fast.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.

In my dictionary it's said to mean "a nice noise made by V4 engines with gear driven cams, ridden by a person with a very warm arse"sandbar wrote:Wailing!! Isn't that the same as blubbing?boxerpan wrote: Ten wailing V4's................. Apologies before the event.

The exact opposite of 'gnashing' (of teeth) when a BMW owner contemplates another final drive rebuild after the salesman swore blind that they were more cost effective than chain & sprockets.

Thanks for that, we are mostly staying off the A9 and now have a local guide with morning briefing before playtime so fingers crossedStevie wrote:Most of the roads around there are pretty good. Watch it on the A9 though, some bad accident spots and LOTS of attention from the Police.
Are the English schools back now? If so, the caravan counts (I think I spelled that right) should be down.

The OTHER V4 with gear driven camsBoxadog 2000 wrote:I thought that all Pans had been grounded.

PS The only wailing that a Pan does is the owner trying to get any sense out of the dealer network when complaining about the weave at more than 90 mph
"They all do that Sir"
"We can't possibly road test a bike at those sorts of speeds Sir"
"Honda don't say there is an issue"
"I'll just put you on hold whilst I find someone who can help...........Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

The weekend passed without any hedge/ditch/rock interfaces which was good. We stayed off the A9 and found a couple of cracking days riding c/w sunshine - WOW
The lack of traffic was a bonus, the only downside was the occasional very narrow/bumpy section.
Most of the GS's sold in the UK must reside or be visiting Scotland at the moment coz we only saw three other bikes the whole weekend

We were nowhere near Fife (I'm pretty sure)andrew s wrote:And you didn't say hello when you were up here.
You are right about there being a lot of GS's. They are a pain in the a**e to be honest.
Andrew

Day One was a loop round Nairn, Inverness, Garve, Kinlochewe, Shieldaig, Five Sisters (cracking road), Invergarry and back thru Fort Augustus and over the top of Strathdearn
Day Two was another loop round Alness, Bonar Bridge, Falls of Shin, Laxford Bridge, Ledmore Junction, Ullapool and back thru Garve.
The second days' roads suited the RC30 much better
