Have a read of this Blog from the assistant chief cuntstable (sic) of North Wales
http://www.north-wales.police.uk/nwp/pu ... D=2&CID=25

he invites comments, so it would be churlish of us not to respond

Couldn't resist accomodating his request for feedback
I read your blog with a feeling of despondancy. You write "Most riders are responsible and courteous" and yet you feel it appropriate to ask if the majority of motorcycle riders should be punished for the actions of a few.
Does the same logic not apply to other users of the National Parks? Some ramblers leave gates open and litter lying but the majority do not. Should they be barred from access? Some cars towing caravans do not drive in a responsible manner. The majority do not. Should they be barred from certain types of roads.
Some motor-boat users on the Lakes are irresponsible. The majority are not. Should all boat users be barred from access to the Lakes?
Sir, I am uncertain as to your motivation or your agenda, but it would be a sad day for traditional British freedoms and attitudes should we take the step that you suggest, and I for one will do all in my democratic power to fight any such proposal.

Without wanting to alienate the whole of the Boxertrix site, I actually think he has a point regarding excessively loud exhausts, opps, now I've done it

Personally, standing on top of Stob Derg at the entrance to Glencoe, listening to the sportsbikes howling along the A82 across Rannoch Moor is good fun but I do appreciate that not everyone would think so.
Likewise, watching and listening to Harriers and Tornados flying though the valleys is simularly stimulating but I bet there are a few locals that would disagree. Perhaps we should stop low flying military aircraft flying through National Parks as well. "sorry chaps, I know you find it really useful but can't let do any low level flying through Snowdonia coz you might piss off the Deputy Chief Constable Blog of North Wales"

Personally, I find the flap, flap, flap of loose sails somewhat anoying but do I protest ? No. Likewise, sitting on the lake shore having to listen to the constant, "heave ho" and "coming about" or "tacking" is equally anoying. But complain I do not. And if anybody has has ever stayed in a seaside hotel overnight and had to listen to the clink, clink, clink, clink of the rigging wires hitting the aluminium masts of all those sodding sailing boats, its enough to make you reach for the wire cutters. But do I propose that all sailing should be banned? No, because that would be punishing the whole sailing fraternity for the actions of a few mindless, inconsiderate salty seadogs.

So PC Blog, next time you go mouthing off about banning motorbikes from National Parks, perhaps you should consider not tarring all motorcyclists with same brush. By all means ban excessively loud bikes as this would leave more room for the rest of us. But then again you have the authority to do that already ...........but as you spend most of your time just trying to catch speeders, there is not a lot of time for anything else.

Sorry, everyone. once I got started I couldn't stop.

Despite requesting feedback, there seems to be nowhere on the site where you can read the feedback that has already been posted. Do you think he's just collecting the names, e-mail addresses and postcodes of malcontents, so his colleagues can keep an eye on us?

Malcontentedly yours,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Could be right Paul. Especially since they want your inside leg measurement before you can post.

Stevie and Nu2, rock on! Nice replies. :D
