I'm aware that there are no end of other possibilities including Baglux but (a) I don't want a vinyl tank cover and (b) I don't want a large, bulky tank bag, which most other alternatives are. I just want a day bag for toll money, wallet, camera, visor cleaner etc, and because of what I keep in it I want to be able to remove it quickly and easily from the bike.RiceBurner wrote:Baglux?
I've got the baglux and its excellent except it too suffers from the offset fuel filler - the bag 'tends' to fall to the right - it seems to always hit the inside of my right arm and be miles away from the left. BMW 'peanut' bag would fit the bill. Without the extension bit it is perfect for the bits of junk you cart around but don't go in pockets, unclips in seconds and is reasonably well made. Seems the only reason it's claimed not to be suitable is because of the offset filler. The 1100S filler cap is otherwise identical to others on R1100/1150 models. I'm sure they claim it's not compatible for liability reasons or in case someone buys it and then complains that "It doesn't fit properly".If your bike has an off-center gascap, a gascap without screw holes in the rim, no gascap (electric bike?), or dual off-center gascaps, then this tankbag CANNOT be used with your bike.
The following bikes DO NOT have threaded gas-cap screws located in the top center of the gasoline tank and cannot use the SW-MOTECH Quick-Lock tankbag mount:

Carrying a camera, phone, wallet, passport, multitool, hotel reservations, toll money, visor cleaner, lip balm, GPS (when removed from bike) etc in pockets isn't something I'd like to try. Particularly on a long tour. Not generally, but when touring on the bike my Givi Voyager (alias "man bag") does tend to go everywhere with me. Neat, but suffers the same problem that anything mounted on the fuel filler of an 'S' will - being off-centre. Due to the nature of the fixings, though, it might be possible to move the bag-mounted bits sideways so that the bag still sits centrally - best solution I've seen so far.
