Staying at the Edgcote this time.
Can anyone suggest a route from Brighton that cuts out some of the motorway?
See you saturday !
Geoff,
presentation 3pm at Visitor Centre. Edgecote Guest House is just across the bridge from the Queens. Gwen`s taxi will be available on Saturday evening.
The A5 from North of London then the A444 to Burton avoids the motorway. Another way is A1 to Stamford then A606 to Melton Mowbray,A6006 to Kegworth and A50/A38 to Burton.

A413/A43 Towcester

What about suggesting an equally pleasant return route?

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

A444/A5/M69/A46 to south east of Coventry
A423 Banbury
A4260 Kidlington
A34 Oxford bypass
A423/A4074 Benson cafe
You may know the best routes from there

Not quite as nice as the route up but it's different.
If you have a little more time you could pick up the Fosse Way at High Cross (A5, 2 miles south M69-junction 2)
B4455 Halford / Moreton-in-Marsh / Stow-on-Wold
A424 Burford
A361 Lechlade
A417 Faringdon / Wantage / towards Benson

Just spoken to Reg and the plan is now that we hope to meet at the visitor centre for around 1-00pm in order to grab some lunch before handing the cheque over. Hope to meet more of you there tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Regards Peter.
