...how is it attached ? Allen bolt ? What size ?

From memory Lloyd it's a single alen head bolt that holds it on, as you look at the cover from the side the bolt is towards the middle of the bike about half way up the cover. Size 5.

Yep... a single 5mm hex - not the easiest thing to get at unless you have some ball headed hex sockets (as I do)

I do. Is it thru thr small hole at the back of the cover by the gear shift arm ?

If you put your fingers round the back of the cover you can feel it. You can just about see it if you look through the gap above the swinging arm povot.
