Motronic
Anyone know how often the Motronic samples the mix ? I was told once every 500 revs - if so this sounds like a very basic device and maybe a candidte for a MOTRONICectomy come next winter.

It's not how fast you ride, it's how you ride fast.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.

I believe the Motronic controls everything including ignition and injection. How would the Motronic controller be eliminated without going to standard carbs and a points breaker ignition?
Anyway, sampling has to be done constantly to adjust for the variation of loads from just riding down the road, regardless of RPM. The sampling you're referring to might be related to setpoints on the injection/ignition map.

If enough is enough and more is better than too much should be just about right.
Bingo.....nice pair of carbs with proper ignition that you can advance........sounds like just the answer
The sampling cannot be done constantly as the motronic isn't some sort of super computer - the question I was asking was how frequently it samples the mix and is it sampling it often enough ?

Sorry dont understand what you mean seat of the pants dyno!
Does the dyno you are using have real time co and mixture sampling?
I guess that it would be JHP who again I guess have the experiance in setting up the map to nothing other than spot on, it is my understanding that with a PC you can get infinatley variable adjustment?
Did you get the new lambda sensor with your PC
I would expect an extra 2/3 bhp at the rear wheel and absolutley no surge and perfect fuelling if you dont have perfect fuelling they need to do more dyno runs and re-mapping.

Hi Bob
The Power Commander comes with a Bosch lamber sensor, fitted mine a couple of weeks ago with strict instructions not to use it, till both mine and Lloyds had been on the dyno for a cutom map!!! started it up after i'd fitted it,the rev counter needle nearly jumped of the dial!!!.
After looking on the Pelican at what the Yanks were running kit wise, thought sod it,i'll run it up the road as their(P/C) stock program can't be to bad.
Up to 4 thou seemed pretty normal after that it went ballistic, needle went round the dial like a dose of salts!!!!,it picks up VERY quick,Johns mob are at Brands on sunday so i'm hopeing we can drop the bikes of the following tuesday,it just wasn't practical this week as they all came back from Albecete sat night and between this morning and thurs morning have 4 engines to changes and all the other preparation!!!
So can we have a engines dyno'd is likely to met with a blunt 'Piss off'!!!!

You may need to be quick, Nottingham J&S only had Gibernau reps left and my guess is you wouldn't be seen dead in one of thosegus wrote:New helmet, they have a deal on rx7 corsair at J&S at the moment £299
