The ABS lights just keep on flashing. Battery is charged up. Sensors have the right air gap. But still those warning lights flash lazily from side to side. This is a recent thing, started after I locked up the back brake on the road. Something then made lots of clunking noise, I thought it might be the ABS activating. Now, I no longer get that clunk from the ABS as I pull away that used to extinquish the lights. And today, while driving across my slippery lawn, the back broke away and BOTH lights stayed on! Engine restart put them back to alternate flashing. Borig. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be wrong?
AND, I need a couple of the rear ( and front ones too) ABS sensor shims, any sizes, I have set the gap using washers, but would like to put in the real bits. Anyone got some to get rid of?

You will have to go back to the dealer to have the ABS reset. It takes 30 seconds, and they would have to be pretty hard hearted to try to charge you for it! They can also tell you what triggered the system to go into fault mode.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

I think mine have been flashing the best part of 18 months now since I wrecked the front sensor in a freak screwdriver accident. I can still HEAR them flashing though before I start the engine I must get round to finding a new sensor and having them reset
It got worse. Lights continued to flash slowly. I did an outing this morning, icy, brief blizzard as I went over the ridge, but bike running o.k. I had parked on the far side of a slippery, gravel and mud car park. Later, set off on my 10 mile journey home, sounded like a bit of tape stuck to my tyre, then it became a stone stuck in the tread, that click every revolution. Then it sounded like a small end knocking. And I could feel it through the whole bike. I had only got up to about 30 mph and half a mile. Both clutch and brake on, coasting, and the hammering got terrible, felt like the front wheel was snagging a bolt. Stopped. I rolled the bike back onto the pavement, checked all around, nothing apparently wrong.
Restarted, no big end noise. Moved away and it was back. Got it. Not related to engine or gearbox speed, independant pump. The ABS!!
This noise came and went in intensity during my 20mph ride home, during which time the front brake failed entirely.
Everything off now, including the tank. Front brake has pressure again now and the ABS is silent, but the bike is static.
Has anyone else out there ever had the ABS fail on them? Am I now looking for a new ABS pump? Anyone got a low mileage unit?
I would sling the system now, but I recently put very nice new hoses on it.
