Riceburner's had the Road Attacks on his Rockster - seemed to think they were ok, but a high wear rate. Then again he does ride like a *gurl...

I was told they don't do a 170 rear. Does anyone know otherwise?

Got around to fitting a set of conti roads (180rear) . The only thing I can say at the moment is that they feel different than z6's or d220's

.
The only remarkable thing at the moment is that after slithering around approx 200miles over the course of the w /end both tyres look unmarked

I would say steer well clear......is this too late?!
I didn't like em at all.Vague handling,poor wear,and scary in anything less than 100% dry.

My local bike shop started fitting tyres last year and advises that these Contis are on offer for April & May. I started looking for reviews and found this: http://www.canyonchasers.net/reviews/ac ... attack.php
It seems that these tyres mop up Roadtec Z6; Diablo Strada; Pilot Roads and the Battleaxe AND give 6000 miles of wear. They are the BMW tyre company and they are now fitted to the R1200S as standard. Now it seems, in print, they are the business and £165 for the large pair fitted & balanced, (loose wheels) a good buy.

Any dissenters?

I now have approx 1500miles on a set , and find that they handle exactly as described in the review above. Tip in very quickly (compared to z 6's etc) have loads of side grip and in full wet conditions very hard to spin up, my original post about being nervous must just have been a combination of freezing temps/ genuinely very slippery surfaces (my MZ was spinning up the rear wheel at the time!) and the unique handling characteristics. For me they genuinely seem suited to the s , plus what made up my mind was that i followed a 1200rt in wet weather around scotland last year, it had a set fitted as OE and never stepped out of line once(although it was affected badly by cross winds)
All my running has been in cold wet and they currently use approx 1mm per 1000 miles , presumably wear will be higher in warm dry conditions, and they come with approx 6mm on the rear tyre so unless I run them to the carcass they won't last 6k miles.(the low cost is another bonus)

Rear tyre now has approx 2.5k miles and is down to 3mm (new 6mm)

Now have 4k +miles and rear is down to 2mm plus front is looking rather chewed up (more so than previous tyres) . Still handles ok .

I have just put a set on as well (£190 for the pair - ride in - which didn't seem too bad). Got to be better than the ContiForce that were on it when I bought the bike.

Riding down to West Bay (Bridport) tomorrow if anyone about! Not seen another S in Wiltshire yet so maybe find some further afield

Hear ye!! Hear ye!! Just got a new, DVLA computer generated MOT. Now they are watching us! From the bike shop that 400 miles ago fitted the Conti Road Attacks to my loose wheels for £160 the pair.
They listened with bemused, knowing expressions as I described how good they were, straight from the box, no running in, etc, etc. No-one has yet come back and said anything bad, even the young local crazy on a kawasaki 400 and an older crazy on his R1 love them. About 1mm per 1000 miles, good in all conditions.
AND, the discount price is being continued through the season, probably till September.
