Ohlins rear shock suggested settings.

Post by bigblackfalco »

Just having a clear out of my emails and thought I'd post these very useful settings(given to me by Rob Barks) for anyone with an Ohlins rear shock who's looking for some base settings for their unit:

-6 (from full hard) on Comp (top adjuster)
-20(from full hard) on rebound (lower adjuster)
Rear sag 17mm.

I know that Gus has used very similar settings to these.
As a guide:12 stone/75kg rider used for spirited riding. You may need slightly more compression/rebound damping if you are riding a loaded bike.

Have just fitted my Ohlins this week.
Height is set up at max recommended on the threads.

Im 17 stone tho, so not quite sure where to go with it.

Any other fatties out there?

Have a look at the spring, what's it got on the side 150??? if it has it needs changeing it won't be stiff enough to get to anything like you'll need to much preload, and with the amount of compression and rebound you'll need to control so much preload it'll soon get it's knickers in a twist.
