When I bought my LED panel from Nippy Norman's (the one Paul mentioned at the start of this thread), it came in two versions, depending on the age of the bike. My older 2000 model doesn't have all the same electrical wizardry as the newer bikes, so didn't require the extra electronics (just resistors, I presume) in the panel.

FWIW, if you need a recommendation on the LED panel, I've had it in for about 6000 miles now, and am still very happy with it.

Nab has the right thread! I recently fitted a LED replacement bulb, with about 25? leds on it. The brightest I could find. My bike is a 1998. It all worked o.k. in the garage, pedal & lever would make the bulb light, switching on the lights - the rear lit up! A few days later, rear light still works, but no brake light. Relocating the rear bulb seemed to fix the problem, but again just for a few days, then the brake light went again. I have now gone back to regular bulb. In due course I will have to fit a ballast resistor to provide some load so that the electrickery on the bike continues to believe the bulb is fine and refit the led job. That resistor costs about £5 and is only needed for the brake light.

I don't know if you can get them in 12v but HD (heavy duty not Ha**ey) spec stop and tail bulbs (commercial /military) spec with better supported filaments would be a good bet if vibration is the cause of the failures, and would work out cheaper than an led panel.
